# 00115 :  Long Island Mission
A few of us from Long Island are starting a ministry targeting the “lost” 20s/30s Americanized Asian Indians living in Long Island and Queens. We are focusing on those who have never attended church, those who hardly attend church, and those who have left the church. We are still in the early stages of praying and planning and if you would like further details, please email binuvthomas@gmail.com. If you have been involved (currently involved) in this type of ministry, we would also be happy to hear any suggestions that you may have. Also, for those of you who are thinking about starting similar ministries in your area, here are some must read books: 1. Understanding the Coconut Generation: Ministry to the Americanized Asian Indians, by Sam George 2. The Purpose-Driven Church, by Rick Warren 3. The Emotionally Healthy Church, by Mr. Peter Scazzero 4. Christian Pluralism in the United States : The Indian Immigrant Experience, by Raymond Brady Williams God Bless!

Dear brother Thomas,

It will be a priviledge to support you and your fellow workers in prayer. May God be glorified, the Name of The Saviour be praised, and may The Holy Spirit powerfully support and strengthen you as you take up this task.

Your brother in Christ,

John Miller

Brother Thomas,

I will pray for a great harvest in Long Island. The name of Jesus be lifted high.

The enemy is strong in many cities as there are so many strongholds. Please ask the local churches to pray against these enemy strong holds Specifically. Claim the area or region in the Lord Jesus Name in Prayer. What ever you ask for in prayer shall be given you (my paraphrase). If you claim the streets in Jesus name, then those that are in them will soon follow.

I will forward this request to my email list so that they too around the world can pray into this. A good covering of intercessory prayer will provide you with the supernatural support that is required.

God bless.
Let His name be praised.
David

Be a little wary about Rick Warren's principles. God Himself direct you and your ministry.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Coconut generation is basically Indian people living in a western world. Brown on the outside and white on the inside.

Regarding Pastor Rick Warren, don't you think he gets his principles from the same God that we have a relationship with? After all, he is a Pastor of a Baptist church. (Just a question, not to put you down.)

God Bless!

The book is written by Sam George. He is a member of the Mar Thoma church in Chicago. I think he is someone who has a good understanding of the second/third generation Malayalees living in America.
