Will Lord Jesus Christ annul His relationship with His bride? 

Ephesians 5:25-33

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church-- 30 for we are members of his body. 31 "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." 32 This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

 

The exhortation given to husbands during weddings, including CS adherents is: to love, care for, protect and feed their wives just as Christ does the church. Invariably in all the weddings of evangelicals it will also be stated with all seriousness:

 

What therefore God hath joined together,

let not man put asunder. Mark 10:9

 

A believer is united with Christ (Phil 2:1)

Paul quizzes in Romans 8:35

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

 

The Lord Jesus had done / continues to do everything necessary for keeping his church clean, holy and without blemish / stain /or wrinkle.

 

JUDE 1:24 -25

Now unto him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.

 

Is not this doxology in Jude quoted above meaningless according to CS?

 

My question, in view of the writings of CS adherents like k-jude, is this:

Will the Lord Jesus Christ annul His relationship with the born-again believers causing them to lose their eternal life, their salvation, on eventualities and conditions stipulated by those advocating CS?

Jesus Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her -

v to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,  and

The union between Lord Jesus Christ and His Church is a profound mystery— Eph 5:32

But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. 1 Cori 6:17.

 

Jesus Christ doesn’t hate his own body, his church, but he feeds and cares for her. We are the members of his body, his church. He continues to care and cleanse the church for presenting her radiant without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish. He is working to present her to himself holy and blameless.

 

The church is expected to be vigilant and diligent; whereas the Lord has taken upon himself the responsibility of cleansing, washing and making her radiant, blameless and holy. The church has not been left alone with the task of becoming holy and remaining holy; thereby acquiring eligibility for eternal life; all by herself as CS advocates argue.  

 

God forgives His people for His own sake. It is the LORD who blots out our transgressions and He does it for His own sake. He refines His people for His own sake.

 

Isaiah 43:24 - 25

You have not bought any fragrant calamus for me, or lavished on me the fat of your sacrifices. But you have burdened me with your sins and wearied me with your offenses. "I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

 

Isaiah 48:9-11

For my own name's sake I delay my wrath; for the sake of my praise I hold it back from you, so as not to cut you off. See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. For my own sake, for my own sake, I do this. How can I let myself be defamed? I will not yield my glory to another.

 

Standing on bended knees, I too join the multitude of God’s people to sing this praise to God our Father: (I have inserted ‘me’ for you and ‘my’ for our as highlighted in brackets)

 

Now unto him who is able to keep you (me) from falling, and to present you (me) faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our (my) Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen. (Jude 1:24 -25)

 

A believer won’t be able to keep himself from falling by his private skill or ability; it is the ability of the LORD. The LORD is able to keep us from falling. Keeping oneself faultless also is not within the power of an individual believer; it is the Lord who is able to keep us and present us faultless before His glorious presence.

 

This is what the Lord does and how He protects His disciples from the onslaughts of Satan so that their faith may not fail – Read Luke 22:31-32.

 

Luke 22:31-32

"Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

 

It is the God of peace who equips us for doing his will and it is He who works in us what pleases Him.

 

HEB 13:20-21

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

 

I repeat my question, in view of the arguments put forth by CS proponents:

 

Will the Lord Jesus Christ annul His relationship with the born-again believers, causing them to lose their eternal life - their salvation - on eventualities and conditions stipulated by those advocating CS?

 

Is not the doxology in Jude quoted below, meaningless and a LIE according to CS?

Ephesians 5:25 - 28

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her ……………. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
 
Husbands are exhorted to love their wives “in the same way” as Christ loved his church. What is so laudable about the love of Christ IF Eternal life of His bride under His care ceases to exist  as CS advocates argue? What is the Scriptural scope for “cessation of married life”? as argued by CS advocates in view of Mathew 19:9 (But it was not this way from the beginning.)?
 
Eph 3: 16-19
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge--that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
 
The CS advocates by teaching cessation of Eternal Life despises the love of Christ and insults the Spirit of grace. (Heb 10:29). They despise the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge. The love of Jesus Christ is what it is; and unchangeable whether the critics of Him and His Redemptive works grasp it or not. Who has known the dimensions of the love of the Savior in its entirety? Who has fully grasped the character, quality, depth and reach of the love of Jesus Christ, our Lord?  
 
No wonder why CS insisters are arguing the way they are arguing!!!! They are like the teachers of law (Judaizers) of Paul’s time; like those dreamers mentioned by Jude in his epistle (1:8-9); they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm. 1 Timo 1:7
 
Those who are not strengthened in their inner beings; who are weak and lack power; because they are not rooted and established in love; would not be able to grasp the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge. Eph 3:18-19
 
The free-willed CS advocates, who so confidently despise the love of Christ; who freely insult the grace of God; who are crucifying the Son of God all over again; who are subjecting Him to public disgrace, would not hesitate to rewrite the doxologyin Jude as something like the draft given hereunder (God forbid):
 
Now unto us, the CS advocates, who are able to keep us from falling, and to present us faultless before god’s presence with exceeding joy, to our wisdom, free-will and self sufficiency, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen.
 
This is blasphemous.
 
Isaiah 48:9-11

I will not yield my glory to another.
 
The Lord said:
I will not yield my glory to another in the context of forgiving the sins of His people and cleansing them. Forgiving sins of God’s people, forgetting their past and cleansing them is God’s prerogative and He is staking His very glory on it. He will not give His rights to anyone, i.e: His work of forgiving and propitiating the sins of His people. If someone else deals with the sins of God’s people, it affects the glory of God; it is like yielding His glory to someone else. Is it not like robbing God of His glory when people in self sufficiency endeavor and claim to become holy and remain holy by their will and skill?? It is derogatory and defaming of God.
 
Romans 11: 32 For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

Will a child of God deliberately forsake his faith?  

We have this parable of Wheat and Weeds.

 

Matthew 13:37-40

“He answered, "The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, and the good seed stands for the sons of the kingdom. The weeds are the sons of the evil one, and the enemy who sows them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels."As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.”

 

Many seemingly genuine believers, who in fact are fake ones and not true, will later desert the faith. These fake ones will deny the Lord and go astray. They can be seen actively mingling with other believers and would even take on to Bible teaching and preaching. They are sown by the Devil among God’s people. At some point in time they will defect and manifest their true color. Apostle John gives us this prescription for accounting for the defectors from true believers:

 

1 John 2:18-19

Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

 

The way we are to distinguish true believers (wheat) from fake believers (weeds) is perseverance in the faith. If you look at John’s wording, the implication seems to be that true believers cannot desert the faith. If the apostles could not separate the wheat from the weeds, it would be a little presumptuous to think that we could! So, it is not losing of salvation of the saved but manifesting the true color of imposters among God’s children that we witness from the desertions.

 

But why is it so important to understand that we are secure in Christ? If we were not, then our salvation would be at least be partially dependent upon us and God would not get ALL (and I mean all) the glory. But God gets all the glory. Salvation is totally and completely of God. Even our decision to believe is a result of His planning and working (see Acts 13:48). If you understand this, you can really understand grace.

 

But note this: the grace that saves us is also the grace that transforms us. That is why true believers are in the process of being conformed to the image of Christ. That is why sin bothers the genuine believer. And that is why the genuine believer, like a boomerang, always comes back. The genuinely regenerate person does not need the threat of losing salvation as a motivator to walk the straight and narrow path. Instead, he has the Law of God written on his heart (a new nature), and, although he fails time and time again, he knows that it is “God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose” (Philippians 2:13). He also knows he has a loving but firm heavenly Father who will discipline him or even take him home early rather than allow him to continue in disobedience.

 

That’s why the writer to the Hebrews desired the God of peace to do the following for his readers:

 

Hebrews 13:20-21

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

 

All glory, forever and ever, for my salvation and its Eternal Security is to the Author and Perfecter of my faith – Jesus Christ my Lord and my Savior.

A mousy, timid person shall not be mistaken for a meek person. On getting provoked, that too very easily, the timid may run here and there, confused and disoriented. Their comic behavior will be a funny show to watch as there won’t be any logic or rationale behind the causes and timing of their explosion. 

Even when specifically asked in the past repeatedly, to speak the truth about its behavior, it refused and showed publicly that its behavior is not truthful. In my view, it doesn’t have the godly, truthful character to deal with Biblical subjects.

 

It was real fun to read the above postings. Somewhere it fumbles on promotion of lewdness while reacting to my below statement:

 

Is it mandatory for a man to divorce his adulterous wife? What if he chooses to keep her, keep on loving her even while she continues to live an adulterous life?

 

Read the experience of Hosea in this context. The Lord instructed Hosea:

 

Hosea 1:2 "Go, take to yourself an adulterous wife and children of unfaithfulness, because the land is guilty of the vilest adultery in departing from the LORD."

 

Hosea 3:1-2

The LORD said to me, "Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another and is an adulteress.

 

Love her as the LORD loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the sacred raisin cakes."

 

So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and about a homer and a lethek of barley. 3 Then I told her, "You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with any man, and I will live with you."

 

The CS advocates doesn’t have the spiritual wisdom to know the Love of God and by teaching cessation of Eternal Life they despises the love of Christ and insults the Spirit of grace. (Heb 10:29).

 

They despise the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge. The love of Jesus Christ is what it is; and unchangeable whether the critics from CS group understand His love and redemption. The Lord loves His people even when they become unfaithful to Him and brings them back unto Himself.

 

Pulling down the Most High to make him an equal of hard hearted divorcee (Matt 19:8) by asserting that the Lord would annul his relationship with His bride on eventualities and conditions the CS proponents prescribe is the sin they are committing.

Living by faith –  

1Timothy 6:20-21
Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith.
 
People wander from faith not only by doing what is considered as sin in a moral sense. Godless chatter and professing opposing ideas result in wandering from faith. I am deeply convinced that CS is opposed to God’s Sovereignty. CS makes God into a mechanical automated, brute power program working like an insensitive algorithm. They despise God’s love and insult His grace.
 
Writer to the Hebrews says:
 
God spoke in the past through prophets; and in these last days He has spoken through His Son. Heb 1:1
 
Those who hear God speaking by His Son shall not harden their hearts by sin’s deceitfulness. Heb 3:7-15.
 
The hearers must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what they hear, so that they do not drift away. Heb 2:1
 
The message God spoke by angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment Heb 2:2
 
God has now spoken of a great salvation and those who ignore it shall not expect to escape. Heb 2:3
 
This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will. Heb 2:3-4
 
Heb 12:25 See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. If they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?
 
The Jews (Hebrews) of the First Century AD refused to believe in the work of Redemption completed by the Lamb of God. They refused to believe that “Jesus is the Christ”. The main thrust of the message of the Apostles to the Jewish audience was that:
“Jesus is the Christ”
(See John 20:31; Acts 5:42, 9:22; 1 John 2:22, 5:1.)
 
This is how the Bible describes the Work of Redemption accomplished by God through His Son:
1.   When fullness of time came God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law. Gala 4:4
2.   God’s Son came to seek and to save those that was lost Luke 19:10
3.   The Son of God was named Jesus because he will save his people from their sins. Matt 1:21
4.   God presented His son as a sacrifice of atonement. Romans 3:25
5.   Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Eph 5:2
6.   Jesus Christ had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins. Heb 10:12
7.   By one sacrifice he has made perfect for ever those who are being made holy. Heb 10:14
8.   Then he adds: "Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more." And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin. Heb 10:17-18
 
Writer to the Hebrews made it very clear that:
“NO SACRIFICE FOR SINS IS LEFT”. Heb 10:26.
 
God prepared a way of salvation from sins that satisfies His requirement, His holiness, His justice, His righteousness, and His own very Nature. What God did through His Son is sufficient, effective, complete and perfect. Salvation through Jesus Christ is not a “do-it-yourself” program for the sinners. What Jesus did was not simply for making people “savable” but for saving them. Jews of the First century depended on their wrong interpretation of the Scriptures and refused to accept Jesus the Messiah and salvation through faith in Him.
 
Hebrews 10:26 - 27 says thus:
If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
 
-      What is the deliberate sinning referred here?
-      What is this knowledge of truth?
 
It is the knowledge of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and the deliberate sinning is the rejection of the Son of God.
 
OT Law and its regulations were the shadow of the good things that came through Jesus Christ. It is impossible for the blood of OT sacrifices to take away sins. Those sacrifices are only an annual reminder of sins. Because of all these:
Christ came to do the WILL of His Father;
vto set aside the First Covenant and
vto establish the Second or NEW COVENANT.       
 
By that WILL, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Hebrews 10:10
 
Those who refuse to believe in the efficacy of the sacrifice of atonement by the Son of God by continuing to remain under OT; its Temple worship, Sacrifices, Priesthood, Festivals etc
-      are trampling the Son of God under their foot;
-      they are treating the blood of covenant that sanctifies them as an unholy thing;
-      they are also insulting the spirit of grace. Heb 10:29-31
 
Those who reject the Son of God and His sacrifice deserve severe punishment because they are sitting in judgment of God about His Redemptive Work. The Lord will judge those faulty interpreters of scriptures; who reject His Son and the work of Salvation He has accomplished because of those faulty interpretations of Scriptures; which the Israelites did.
 
The judgment referred in Heb 10:31 is for those who reject and refuse to believe the efficacy of the sacrifice for sin offered by the Lamb of God; they do it by misinterpreting the OT; those who refuse to believe the uniqueness of the work of the Son of God will fall into the hands of the living God, and it would be a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Dear Forum, 

Failure of mankind to retain the knowledge of God led them into moral depravity to do what they ought not to have done. It is God’s desire that men must come to the knowledge of truth and turn away from godless chatter; that people must grow in the knowledge of God. 
 
1.   Who were the first recipients and readers of NT?
2.   Were they all born again children of God; 100% - en block?
3.   What was the composition of the crowd that followed Jesus during His earthly ministry?
4.   Who all were in NT churches during apostolic times?
 
It was certainly a mixed crowd. All those that heard the Gospel, responded in some way by showing interest, but, were all not truly born again believers. Many left the Lord while he was physically with them and doing good to them. (John 6:66)
 
The parable of the Sower makes this amply clear. (Luke 8:4-15)
 
While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: 5 "A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up. 6 Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown."
 
The Lord himself explained the parable at the request of His disciples.
 
Luke 8:9-15
His disciples asked him what this parable meant. 10 He said, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that,   "though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.”
 
"This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
 
Four Groups are mentioned and they are:
 
1.   Outright rejecters of Gospel - they don’t believe.
2.   Rootless, who believe for a while but fall away; who do not combine faith with what they heard.
3.   Immature believers who do not mature. Infants and babes for ever who are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures.
4.   Finally, there are those with a noble and good heart who hear and retain the word; who by persevering produce a crop.
 
The first two groups could be seen among believers for a while; but slowly they will depart and go to where they belong to. Their going from among us will evidence that none of them belonged to us. (1 John 2:18-19)
 
Immature believers are advised to add all the Christian virtues listed in 2 Peter 1 to their faith.
 
2Peter 1:5-9
For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
 
The way to maturity, to be effective and productive, is to add and to have all the listed qualities in increasing measure. Apostle Peter admonished / reminded his readers to make their call and election sure; i.e. to make sure that they don’t belong to the groups listed at 1 to 3 in the Sower’s parable.
 
Writer to the Hebrews in similar vein narrates the case of those of old (The Israelites delivered by Moses from Egypt). They did not enter into God’s rest because they did not combine faith with what they heard; means – they did not believe.
 
Heb 4:1-3
Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. 2 For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith. 3 Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said,  "So I declared on oath in my anger,`They shall never enter my rest.' "
 
Jude also reaffirms the same things in Jude 1:5
 
JUDE 1:5
Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.
 
Instructions directed to unbelievers that are part of the mixed crowd shall be properly identified. Misapplication of such passages to born-again believers confounds the naive. Faulty identification (Not dividing the word rightly) and mis-application of scriptural portions to unintended groups would lead to distortions and false teachings.
 
In short the issue we are faced with is wrongly dividing the Word or Not rightly dividing the Word; and wrong application of Word to Groups of people to whom it is not intended.

Dear All,

God calls His people for himself according to His purpose. (Acts 15:14; Rom 8:28) In the midst of all ungodliness, idolatry and wickedness, God preserves for himself a remnant chosen by grace. Rom 11:5
 
God chose for himself a people from all kinds of backgrounds:
vSome were not wise

vSome were foolish
vSome were weak
vSome were lowly and despised by the world.
vHe also chose wise, influential, strong and noble.
 
But, none could boast before God for anything including their faith – because all these are gifted freely through Jesus Christ by God’s grace (Eph 2:8). God’s gift followed many trespasses and brought justification (Rom 5:16) God chose us and it is because of Him that we are in Christ Jesus (1 Cori 1:29)
 
From the beginning God chose us to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in truth. God calls us through the Gospel. (2 Tim 2:13-14).
 
As stated in the earlier postings, it is we who have believed the gospel enter into God’s rest. (Heb 4: 1-3) God’s elect who have believed the message preached to them enter God’s rest. Some did not enter or go in; they fell short because they did not value the message they heard; they did not combine it with faith. It is not about EXIT but about non-entry the writer to Hebrews warns. Those who failed to enter, who did not value the message spoken to them; who did not believe have fallen short.
 
Some people confound those that NOT ENTERED as those EXITED.  Hence the warning is to those who have not entered, they have been warned about the consequences of Not Entering. The warning is not addressed to those already entered telling them “not to EXIT”. But, it is to encourage those not entered to move forward giving up their disbelief and enter by believing…. Some people read what is not written and build edifices on it ……. which are demolished ….
 
Those that enter God’s rest are cared for, shielded by God’s power. They are born again, born of God with imperishable seed. (1 Pet1:23). God’s seed remains in them. (1 John 3:9).
 
Those born of God are admonished to grow and to get rid of all malice, deceit, envy, hypocrisy and slander of every kind.
 
1Peter 2:1-3 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
 
The Lord in His goodness has provided His children with the services of Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers; to prepare them for works of service, for building up the body of Christ until God’s children reach unity in faith and the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the full measure of the fullness of Christ. There is no need for God’s children to remain immature; God has provided for it all. (Eph 4:10-13).
 
If anyone still remains immature, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming, it is because of their failure and neglect to learn in submission. Those who are taught and properly shepherded will recognize / identify the cunning, crafty, deceitful schemers and deal with them appropriately. Though there is no reason to be unkind, but we must be firm and uncompromising; and a spade is spade for us!!!
 
Ephesians 3:20-21
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.

Dear Forum,

The Lord himself told us of the intruders, the heretics who worm their way into churches, certain false teachers with destructive heresies slipping in among us.
 
The Church of the living God (Acts 20:28), the body of Jesus Christ he has bought with his own blood is the pillar and foundation of the truth. (1 Tim 3:15) The gates of Hades will not overcome it (Matt16:18).
 
But, it is infested with:
1.   false apostles,
2.   false teaches,
3.   false prophets,
4.   false brothers,
5.   savage wolves,
6.   deceitful workmen,
7.   people who throw others into confusion
8.   infiltrators who spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus
9.   Weeds / Tares / Unbelievers
10.Agents of Satan masqueraded as servants of righteousness, et al.
 
Jude categorically mentions of certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago; who have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
 
JUDE 1:3-5
Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints. For certain men whose condemnation was written about long ago have secretly slipped in among you. They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
 
Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.
 
Jude goes on to remind his readers of what the Lord did with the unbelievers among the mixed crowd liberated from Egypt – the Lord destroyed them. All those unbelievers that are part of the mixed crowd, who have slipped in secretly among God’s elect, will be destroyed; their condemnation was written long ago, nothing need to be written now or in future.
 
Jude urges his fellow believers, those who have been called, who are loved by God the Father and kept by Jesus Christ to contend for the faith because of the presence of those secretly slipped in among the sheep.
 
Beware of the savage wolves in sheep’s clothing. Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance. (Jude 1:2)

Did the husband – wife relationship of Hosea with Gomer cease at all!!!

 

Why Hosea’s relationship with Gomer DIDN’T CEASE even while she was living an adulterous life in the eyes of the LORD?

 

In the eyes of the Lord, Hosea’s relationship with Gomer has not ceased; though she was living in adultery, being loved by another. This is what the Lord said to Hosea:

 

"Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another and is an adulteress. Love her as the LORD loves the Israelites, ….

 

Lord referred to Gomer as the wife of Hosea, while she was still living in adultery.  Lord didn’t advise Hosea to divorce or annul his relationship with Gomer as CS proponents eerily jeer.

 

The fact of Gomer’s adulterous life was not unknown to Hosea. The Lord told Hosea to love her again, if in case he had stopped loving her. Knowing the sins, aware of the divorce provision, Hosea accepted the Lord’s instruction. The Lord instructed particular behavior from Hosea in spite of divorce option – keep on to love his adulterous wife, go after her for bringing her back.

 

Hosea continued to love her and bought her back paying a price. Neither the Lord instructed nor Hosea invoked the annulment / divorce provision for ending a relationship.  The relationship was strained; but remained valid without ceasing!! No cessation!!!

 

Hosea had to go through these experiences to be an example of how the Lord loves his wayward people. Hosea became a practical, live example; and the whole incident was an enacted parable of what the Lord does with His people.

 

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases
His mercies never come to an end,
They are new every morning
New every morning
Great is Thy faithfulness, 0 Lord

Great is Thy faithfulness.
