A few weeks again, when Kristianjude used some not-so-good words to address you, I pointed it out to him and such postings have been removed (Thank you, kristianjude for taking the high road and correcting your stance). He has since addressed you as Mr. Koshy. What prompted me to write this is your constant need to address him as ‘kristianjude,’ a.k.a.’kristine. You have given the following paragraph to support your stand.
“You introduced yourself to this Forum as ‘kristine.’ Later, you claimed that ‘kristine’ was taking a new identity and that is ‘kristianjude.’ I did not give any name or identification (ID) to you. However, you have the habit of giving identifications to others. I am only reminding the readers that all your postings could be reached by referring to these two identities; ‘kristianjude’ and ‘kristine.’ If ‘kristine’ was your original ID, why are you getting upset about it? It is similar to ‘kristine’ was upset about being addressed using the feminine pronouns. It was all from you and I only tell what I know as your identities that you chose and known on this Forum.” (Inspiration, Immutability, and Infallibility of the Scriptures, dated 30 Aug 2013 16:56:47)
I will let the readers decide on your motive behind using AKA, since you mentioned that they need to be reminded. Since they are brought into the AKA subject, I like to ask the same readers in whether they find any value in being reminded always. (Readers, please share your thoughts in whether Bro. Koshy’s reminders are helpful). If readers think on the contrary, I will assume that that you will immediately cease from addressing him so. I guess, time will tell on what the true intent is.
As I mentioned previously, readers not just read the postings but they read us too. If Kristianjude needs to discuss with you on an eye-to-eye level, I believe, such “reminders” are not helpful. What can be done is to take the high road and set a humbler, sincere tone where readers are drawn to one’s postings. A godly teacher sets the bar of conduct high. In contrast, heavy-handed responses as seen often in this forum (including to those who teach/believe unscriptural doctrines) will not attract them in anyway to know the real truth but rather push them away, making one’s effort counter-productive.
In closing, here’s a Scriptural pattern for our admonition:
“And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.” (NJKV, 2 Tim 2: 24-26)
“And the Lord’s servant must not be a man of strife: he must be kind to all, ready and able to teach: he must have patience and the ability gently to correct those who oppose his message. He must always bear in mind the possibility that God will give them a different outlook, and that they may come to know the truth. They may come to their senses and be rescued from the power of the devil by the servant of the Lord and set to work for God’s purposes.” (JB Phillips, 2 Tim 2:24-26)
