" Joa " ,

I was waiting for someone else , an elder , to begin with the reply to your posted topic .

But anyways .......
Now i'll go ahead

In ones CHRISTIAN life , quiet time plays a very significant role .

" Its not the length of our prayer that matters ....... but the strength of our prayer " !!

Having a quiet time ,
pouring out ones heart with tears before GOD ,
confessing ones sins ,
asking forgiveness ,
seeking guidance ,
praying for spiritual upliftment ,
keeping in mind spiritual blessings ,
and accepting GOD's will in ones CHRISTIAN life is very very important .

It really helps .......
and goes a long way leading to a satisfied & joyful success , in every sphere of ones life .

One of the significant things to be kept in mind regarding quiet time is ,
KNEELING DOWN BEFORE GOD ,
and accepting ones weaknesses , shortcomings & wrongdoings !!

And it also includes what all i had mentioned before .

In a nutshell ,
i would just like to say ......
" ONE WHO KNEELS BEFORE CHRIST , CAN STAND BEFORE ANYONE " !!!

With CHRISTIAN GREETINGS :
Sharon

Thank you sharon.

We need to spend some time daily for learning the Word of God. Learning means not reading, but meditating the word of God.

Iam looking for some practical points that will help all the youngsters in our assemblies to spend some time with God's word daily.

Many of us are working/studying and the common excuse/constraint that we hear/experiance is TIME.

In this situations how can we continue with Studying word's God consistently ?

Motivation/Enthusiasm is very much required for this. In Biblical terms, thirst for living water.

Can somebody explain the practical ways that they are adopting to overcome the common problems like Laziness,Busy Schedule ..

Dear Brethren,

Every Christian should enjoy a daily quiet time with the Lord God. We love Him, thats why. We adore Him, thats why. He means everything to us, thats why.

To all practical purposes Quiet Time should be in a quiet place where one can be all by himself/herself with the Lord.

Quiet Time is only me and my Lord.
Quiet Time is Meditation (on His word and through it a retrospection).
Quiet Time is a time of personal Praise,Worship
and adoration.
Quiet Time is am appreciation of our unique relationship with our Lord.
Quiet Time also reveals our deep love and passion for Him.
Quiet Time is a place for outpouring.

Quiet Time is a very healthy spiritual exercise for every believer. Quiet Time strengthens us and empowers us spiritually.

All said and done Quiet Time is a Must and very Important for a Believer.

Joa ,

I would like to take up the point once again , which was mentioned by "terry_martin" ( Its very important ).......

" We need to be alone , in a place where there is no one around us " .
And then we can pour out our heart before our SAVIOUR .

And about what you had asked ,
regarding the common problems like Laziness , Busy schedule etc.

We need to give the first & topmost priority , preference & ofcourse reverence to GOD & HIS WORD .
Rest all other things should come up , & be put up & considered afterwards only .

I would like to quote a famous line here ....
" DONT FORGET TO SHARE YOUR TIME WITH JESUS ....... BECAUSE 'HE' NEVER HESITATED SHARING 'HIS' LIFE FOR 'YOU' " !!

If we have this line stucked up in our minds, then i dont think , we will ever miss an oppurtunity to share our time with GOD.

Our life is HIS .
It is given by HIM .
Then what a small lapse or a part of it costs or stands before it !!

All the BEST .

Regards :
Sharon

dear joa,
Quiet time is for christian as food and water is for the physical man,
It is a matter of pure sustenance.
Let's say you have a love of your life. You try to be with this person all the time, using every possible opportunity to know them personally, to show your adoration, to unify with them in soul and spirit. This is what happens when a christian spents the precious moments with the Lord. You hear God's voice, you learn from Him, you give Him glory and honour by putting all your glory and honor aside, get strengthened for the day ahead of you, so you may not be tempted by satan.
Read the bible and pray at any time you can, not just once but any available time, so your relationship with the Lord is strengthend moment by moment.

How to do it?
Set aside some time for the Lord.
Daniel prayed 3 times and God calls him, dearly beloved.
David prayed 3 times, in the dark hours of his life, late hours of the night, he praised Him 7 times a day and so on.
Quiet time is any time you spent with the Lord without any external hindrances or distractions..
If you go to RBC ministries website and go to ODB and search for Quiet time you will find a lot of articles related and also daily devotionals if you want.
may God bless you.

Early Rising

Why we need to practice early rising

In this article we see some reasons why we need to practice early rising.

It is the best time to meet God

God prefers to meet His people early hours. From the creation time to the present day. He preferred to meet people in the early hours. Through out the age especially in the book of Jeremiah we can see this phraise ‘rising early in the morning’ or ‘rising early’. And now, because ye have done all these works, saith the LORD, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not; (Jer 713).Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them(Jer 725) .For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice. (Jer 117).From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened. (Jer 253).And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear. (Jer 254).To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened; (Jer 265).Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD. (Jer 2919).And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction. (Jer 3233).The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his sons not to drink wine, are performed;

for unto this day they drink none, but obey their father's commandment notwithstanding I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye hearkened not unto me. (Jer 3514).I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers but ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me. (Jer 3515).Howbeit I sent unto you all my servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate. (Jer 444)

It is the time to gather manna

And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat. This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for every man, according to the number of your persons; take ye every man for them which are in his tents. And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, some more, some less. And when they did mete it with an omer, he that gathered much had nothing over, and he that gathered little had no lack; they gathered every man according to his eating. And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning. Notwithstanding they hearkened not unto Moses; but some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank and Moses was wroth with them. (Exodus 1614-21). Which is a famous verse to all of us. Manna resembles the word of God. This manna illustrates Lord Christ Jesus Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is he which come

h down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. (John 632-35) and blessedness given to the saints." He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it." (Revelation 217)

Christ practiced early rising:

In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there. (Mark 1:35)And all the people would get up early in the morning to come to Him in the temple to listen to Him. (Luke 21:38).Early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; and He sat down and began to teach them. (John 8:2).

While it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went to a secluded place and praying there. This happened in the Peter's mother in law house. before the day Jesus raised peter mother in laws fever. hearing the news lot of crowd gathered together at the entrance of the Peters house. He healed many. and time is running out. and it is almost early morning. On the morrow after the Sabbath, on the first day in the week, notwithstanding the fatigue of the former day, through preaching and miracles he rose up very early while it was very much within the night, as the light and day were coming on, and before the day broke; though it might be broad day before he departed out of the house, as Luke suggests, When day came, Jesus left and went to a secluded place; and the crowds were searching for Him, and came to Him and tried to keep Him from going away from them. (Luke 4:42). People are searching for him even then he went out. leaving simeon, Andrew and all the congregatiocongregation. it may be for his

he had lately chosen; for himself, as man, that he might be strengthened as such for service; and for success in his ministry, and that his Gospel might run and be glorified; he chose a desert, and solitary place, for the sake of retirement, from the crowd of people that attended at Peter's door; where he could not be alone, and in private, and as most suitable for the exercise of prayer. His early and private devotion must become example to our lives.

After that he goes to the temple and start preaching there who are expecting his arrival. And all the people would get up early in the morning to come to Him in the temple to listen to Him.( Luke 21:38).so huge crowd used to gather to listen to the Lord Jesus Christ we see the same. Early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people were coming to Him; and He R489 sat down and began to teach them. (John 8:2)

Wicked people also raise in the morning:

Wicked people raise in the morning to deceive and to plan evil against the world. He who blesses his friend with a loud voice early in the morning, It will be reckoned a curse to him. (proverbs 27:14) and they rise in the morning to execute the plans of the evil. Woe to those who scheme iniquity, Who work out evil on their beds! When morning comes, they do it, For it is in the power of their hands. (Micah 2:1). These two verses should be a warning and lesson to us. Even the enemy waking up early morning. It is not fair and good for us to be on bed. If we are bed means it is showing that we are defeated people. We are not willing to fight against the people. We are almost half defeated. Remember this as lesson to you. Never be roll on bed early morning. Come on to Knees. How

long will you lie down, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep?" A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest"(Proverbs 6:9,10)

Early rising reminds us of Spiritual awakening:

Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. (Romans 13:11,12).Now we are in the night, we are sleeping, our sleep should be as if we are ready to aware. always looking forward to awake, because the salvation (The day of redemption). the redemption from wars, persecutions, diseases is very close. It is almost gone, and the day is very near. We need to put on the Armour of light. Get ready. Dont be sleepy. May be you will be left behind because of your sleep. So, This verse talks about the spiritual awakening. Early rising teaches and reminds about the spiritual awakening.

Neglecting early rising leads to poverty

Bible teaches us that How long will you lie down, O sluggard? When will you arise from your sleep?" A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to rest"--Your poverty will come in like a vagabond And your need like an armed man." Proverbs 6:9-11.This is experience of many people. They want to sleep some more time, and we will fold our hands and to rest for some more time. I too done for some days. But In the name of Jesus we need to get out of this habit. and we need to get up early in the morning. Other wise this particular verse says "Your poverty will come in like a vagabond" (Proverbs 6:11). So, we need to rise early and we need to start working. we need to execute our daily duties. Especially women in the house needs to wake up before the dark moves out and she has to start executing daily duties. She rises also while it is still night And gives food to her household And portions to her maidens. (Proverbs 13:15). We should not eat bread with out paying or with our labour (2 Thessalonians 3:8).We should do all the work with the fear of the Lord. When you shall eat of the fruit of your hands,

Dear 'sudheer1,'

Why do you expect others to answer your questions. You don't answer the questions from others to you. In the General Forum you have not answered my questions that are placed on your threads to understand your postings. You are asked by the Lord Jesus Christ to do to others as you want others to treat you.

Shalom malekim!!!

'Sudheer1',

I personally do not think it is ethical to 'promote' one's own writing thru this discussion forum as implied above. If you seriously want to share your writings, please do so via email freely rather than soliciting funds for a hard-copy edition. The ‘excellence’ of the product/content can only be determined by the readers.

I also would like to know who are the 'we' that you refer to. This has come up in a few of your previous postings. Do you represent an entity or organization?

God Bless!

Dear Brethren,
I fully believe that QUIET TIME is a very personal and private experience of a believer.
Its a deep sense of Love and Passion and Gratitude that leads us into this experience.
Quiet Time is a must in our spiritual life as important as the desire of a married individual to spend quality time in private with his/her spouse.
One's Committment in this spiritual relationship and so also Appreciation of the Love and Care of our Lord towards us,that enables us to have this experience.
We must fully understand the relationship(spiritual)we are in and the emotions and feelings involved in this relationship to have and experience Quiet Time.
Quiet Time should never be stealing time from some work or busy programme in our secular daily schedules. It has to be a deliberate setting apart of time and our Self.It should never be inspired or motivated by any other source other than your passion and feelings and understanding. This is all to do with your relationship with your Lord and not "God and the world" or "God and the Church".It must be a daily experience since our relationship with Him is just not on a Sunday,we have a continual love relationship with our Lord.
His Passion in this relationship - He chose me, His Everlasting Love, He never sleeps (proves how much he disires to be with His chosen), He always gives me His best(...supply all our needs...),He will never forsake me(.....I will in no wise cast off),He never changeth(...the same Yesterday, today and forever), He will soon come for me(to have me always with Him).
Whats our Passion? - Quiet Time will prove our Passion.
Brethren let us all enjoy our relationship with Him and let us not lead our lives as a Myth or a farcical ritual. Get personal with Him who loves you. Talk to Him, share your thoughts and your feelings and desires with Him, sit with His word(His mode of conversing with you), kneel in prayer(your mode of conversing with Him).
Do not leave this world without this experience of a Quiet Time, since We are Loved and We Love.

Yes. Why this point came here. yes every one tries to do his best and strives hard. I am doing the same.
=================

"we" means the person who wrote the book
- The person who done editing (U know how horrible to edit my english).

- the people who prayed for me and for the book

- and to the people BEthel orphanage and the people who benefited by the Quiet Time sessions in Desciple TRaining camps which we coduct.

One thing varghese.Do you want these copies or not.

And observe Quiet time in the early morning. It will set you day time activities. not observing Quiet time may lead you to a defeated life

Dear friends all the above suggetions are good. Quite time with our Lord is an essential part in our walk of faith with the Lord. This need a deep desire and a willing heart to spend time with our Lord to share our feeling, burdens, to tell Him how much we love Him, and praise Him and worship Him, and also put all our burdens upon Him. To interseed for others and pray for many matters. There is no strict rule for the place and time. It is up to our convenience. Our Lord Himself showed us the example. He departed from all his work and people and spend time in prayer and communication with His father. Before he took the cross He went in to the garden of Gethsamne and spent time with His father alone. Before we gets up in the morning spend some time in prayer and start our daily cores with Him. Establishing the relationship with the Lord and continue to communicate with Him is a daily and constant practice. Once we could establish that personal relationship with Him we will never break it.It need both physical and mental quiteness. If our heart is troubled and our mind is with sonething else we may not be able to concentrate with our Lord and communicate with Him successfully."Be still and know Him" that is the principple. It need constant practice with our mind, heart and spirit.Even if we are alone and spending reading the word and pray our mind and heart will be somewhere else. So concentration is the most important fact.Once we start our relationship with our Lord Before we gets up we can continue talking to Him while washing, cleaning, cooking, even when you are in the bathroom. The important thing is what you are doing in your quiteness.Just have fellowship with the Lord. Praise Him, thank Him Pray without ceasing. Pour our hearts to Him. Plce all your burden upon Him.Ask wisdom to live according to His will. "Not my will but thy will"This is a continues learning and practicing process till we see Him face to face. I learned this truth from my young age and now I am enjoying spend most of my time with my Lord at t

Don'think that I am alone. I am a married woman worked as a professional outside home, raised 3 children, did all household works, lately take care of my sick husband, and had a verry buissy life as everybody else. still through all this buissy life I could find out quality time quite time with my Lord. This is because I love my Lord more than anything else and I depend upon Him. with out Him I cannot do anything. He is with me all the time. Always . He in me I in Him.Even if I am buissy physically, my heart is plgged in Him.It is my practice to talk to Him and ask Him advice to do everything. even at this time he is with me to write this notes. Quitely and silently I ask Him what to write. He tells me and I listen. Once again this is a constant mental and spiritual practice.
