# 09378 :  Kerala Flood Relief
There is an act RIA in India. You can ask through an application any infomation from government. Govt will give it in writing. But this is not applicable to brethren organizations. In the name kerala flood, SAI, FIBA, KEM FUND, PATHANAMTHITTA BIBLE INSTITUTE, SATHYAN, Balasangam and a dozen other brethren organizations collected millions from India and abroad. People gave liberally influenced by the emotional flood cry. But where is the money? Who are the beneficiaries? Did these organizations publish an account of receipts and payments? Except a few publicity stunts, the money is the kitty of the patrons. If you ask them Right to Information, you will be abused.

Critic - I agree with you. If you are in India why don't you file a right for information with the Govt. No one knows how much KEM recieved, since the talk is all organizations eventually sent all the money to KEM. After the sensational flood drive all these Organizations have gone mum in the US and Canada. They won't respond to any requests.

I am surprised to hear that  <quote> You can ask through an application any infomation from government. Govt will give it in writing. But this is not applicable to brethren organizations <endquote>
I don't think India Government disntiguishes KB organzations separate or give them some speacail status that they don't have to publish this. May be I am wrong. As stated above, if you are really concerend, you should file with the Indian Government and request the information, except for FIBA, which I think is an American registered organization.

In India, Right To Information Act is applicable to goverment organizations only. Private organizations are not obliged to give information to any outsider.
