In Genesis 2:18 the Lord God said it is not good for the man to be alone;I will make a helper suitable for him.And here Paul says woman created for man. This is the order and arrangement of the creator. If any woman ,specially believers argue for gender equality,is arguing against submission. She is arguing against our creator .Woman who is submissive to the Holy Spirit will always be submissive to her man.As woman submissive to her man ,a man should submissive to our Lord. This is not only a disciplinary order but also a command to all believers.

Dear Jesben,

You said:
>>If any woman ,specially believers argue for gender equality,is arguing against submission

I am assuming you really wanted to say that both are equal in God's eyes but the roles are different. It is like saying that in an army the soliders are as equal in importance as the general yet the roles are different and soldiers submit to the general.

I think the role of a man/woman, husband/wife should be clearly understood both being equal before God.

In Christ,

dEAR jesben
thanks for you reply but i have some questions further
1) suppose a woman is unmarried/widow or if she hasnt reached the age to get married. till then to whom should she be submissive? we tend to presume that all women are married while reading that verse.

2) what type of discipline are u talking about?

A girl , if she has not reached the age to get married / she has reached the age to get married but not married ,she should be subjective to her father. In the case a young sister her father is the authority to take decision. In case of a married sister her husband is the authority. But widows are free to take own decisions. All men and women whether they are married or not should be submissive to the Elders in church.
In married life ,if both couples are taking their own decisions What will be the result? So one should obey and submissive to the other. Here the obeying part is given to woman. This is what I meant by disciplinary order.

jesben,
you are merely saying about decision making. if you are trying to say women/sisters cant decide for themselves, who are men to decide for them?
anyway, the verse has got much more meaning than just decision making.

discipline and obeying are different things. and in a family both the husband n wife have the right to discuss and decide. nowhere its written only husband can decide and wife should follow.

Dear joey, brothers are suppose to be submissive to our Lord.I admit that discipline and obeying are different things. But how can a person be obedient without submission????? How it is possible to keep discipline with disobedient members in the family? Both the couples are free to discuss and decide for the family.Such a decision is not personal.if a woman is taking decision without obeying her husband ,it is against the will of God.Bible never support such a behavior.Otherwise what is the meaning of submission???????????
