# 01443 :  Heaven, What are you looking forward to most?
Here is a question (which I happened to see in one of the Christian forum),However, this question is not really asked too much.

As believers we all are looking toward to that glorious Second Coming of Christ and his rapture of the church, what are you most looking forward to when you get to heaven? I am curious.

For me?

1. Being with Christ for eternity, getting to know him more and more and worshipping my Lord, Jesus the Son and God the Father face to face for all eternity

2. To meet my loved ones.

3. Never having to deal with sin and to being with Jesus, in His arms and resting there safe from all the frustration, pain & the heart-ache that this worldly life brings.

What's yours?

Your brother in Christ,
Jimple

What will it be when all life's toil is finished,
And we have entered our eternal rest;
When past for ever is the night of weeping,
And with thee, Lord, we are for ever blest!

What will it be when all the strife is over,
And all thy saints, now scattered far and wide,
Shall be without one shade of variation,
All like thee Lord, united by Thy side!

What will it be when sorrow's day is ended,
And pain and grief for ever passed away;
When with thee Lord, we share the bright forever,
In perfect peace throughout the endless day!

What will it be? - In blest anticipation
E'en now our hearts outpour in praise to Thee;
But when we see Thee face to face in glory,
Then purer, sweeter, shall our praises be.

Hymn written by Miss A. Ross

It possible that time as we know it now, may be different in heaven, but have you tried imagining eternity? Try for a moment. First imagine how the first 1000 years would feel like. That would be 8,76,0000 earth hours. That is more than ten life times, lived end to end.

Now contemplate the next 10,000 years. Thats 100 earth lives lived end to end. Thats the time light takes to travel halfway across the milky way galaxy.

Now imagine spending 100,000 years. That is living a healthy one hundred year life 1000 times end to end.

Now imagine living 1,000,000 years. Followed by another 1,000,000,000 years...

And have you started even scratching the surface of eternity..NO!! Eternity is endless and eternal life is in Jesus Christ.

1 Thess 4: 17, 18 - "and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words."

++++++Now imagine living 1,000,000 years. Followed by another 1,000,000,000 years..+++++

Wow! It's so great....

But think about the other side....1,000,000,000 + years in the hell...!..I can't imagine that.

Thank you Lord. "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all,.."Romans 8:32)

"He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings." (Psalm 40:2)

"...and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever." :Psalm 23:6

+++++++++++

But just think of stepping on shore
and finding it Heaven
Of taking a hand,
and finding it God's
Of breathing new air,
and finding it celestial,
Of waking up in GLORY,
and finding it home.

This is not my own composition. I don't know the author of this hymn and I do not know all the words but this is the chorus..

With Love,
Jimple

Dear brethren in Christ,

Accross the bridge,
there is no more sorrow,

Across the bridge
there is no more pain,

The sun will shine across the river
And will never be un happy again.

The stanzas I dont know, but this was one of the most consoling chorus I cherished always.

Yours in Christ
Samuel.V.J

Dear Br. Samuel,
here is the full song:

Across The Bridge

I have lived a life of sin, in this world I'm living in
I have done forbidden things I shouldn't do
I ask a beggar along the way if he could tell me where to stay
Where I could find real happiness and love that's true
Across the bridge there's no more sorrow
Across the bridge there's no more pain
The sun will shine across the river
And you'll never be unhappy again

Follow the footsteps of the King, till you hear the voices ring
They'll be singing out the glory of the Land
The river Jordan will be new,and the sound of trumpet you will hear
And you'll behold the most precious place never known to man
Across the bridge there's no more sorrow...
Across the bridge there's no more sorrow...

Dear brethren in Christ,

The most consoling song I cherished always..

+++
Now I've a hope that will surely endure after the passing of time;
I have a future in heaven for sure there in those mansions sublime.
And it's because of that wonderful day, when at the cross I believed;
Riches eternal and blessings supernal, from His precious hand I received.

Heaven came down and glory filled my soul....

+++++++

Yours in Christ,
Jimple.

There are several popular hymns that deal with the subject.I am just quoting below only a few.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This world is not my home, Iím just a-passing though,
My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue;
The angels beckon me from heavenís open door,
And I canít feel at home in this world anymore.

Chorus:
O Lord, you know I have no friend like you,
If heavenís not my home, then Lord what will I do?
The angels beckon me from heavenís open door,
And I canít feel at home in this world anymore.

Theyíre all expecting me, and thatís one thing I know,
My Savior pardoned me and now I onward go;
I know Heíll take me through, though I am weak and poor,
And I canít feel at home in this world anymore.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
When we all get to Heaven,
What a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus,
Weíll sing and shout the victory!

While we walk the pilgrim pathway,
Clouds will overspread the sky;
But when traveling days are over,
Not a shadow, not a sigh.

Let us then be true and faithful,
Trusting, serving every day;
Just one glimpse of Him in glory
Will the toils of life repay.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Come, we that love the Lord,
And let our joys be known;
Join in a song with sweet accord,
And thus surround the throne.

Then let our songs abound,
And every tear be dry;
Weíre marching through Immanuelís ground,
To fairer worlds on high.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Jerusalem the golden, with milk and honey blest,
Beneath thy contemplation sink heart and voice oppressed.
I know not, O I know not, what joys await us there,
What radiancy of glory, what bliss beyond compare.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

There is a habitation,
Built by the living God,
For all of every nation,
Who seek that grand abode.

A city with foundations
Firm as thíeternal throne,
No wars, nor desolations
Shall ever move a stone.

No night is there, no sorrow,
No death and no decay;
No yesterday, no morrow Ė
But one eternal day.

Within its pearly portals,
Angelic armies sing,
With glorified immortals,
The praises of its King.

O Zion, lovely Zion,
I long thy gates to see
O Zion, lovely Zion,
When shall I dwell in thee?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

On Zionís glorious summit stood
A numírous host redeemed by blood!
Thy hymned their King in strains divine;
I heard the song and strove to join.

Here all who suffered sword or flame
For truth, or Jesusí lovely name,
Shout victory now and hail the Lamb,
And bow before the great I AM.

While everlasting ages roll,
Eternal love shall feast their soul,
And scenes of bliss forever new,
Rise in succession to their view.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Jimple
