# 01484 :  William MacDonald
Bro. William MacDonal went to be with our Lord:
Following are the news from AV Ministries:

Falsh : Brother William (Bill) MacDonald Went to be with the Lord

Brother William (Bill) MacDonald Went to be with the Lord. Our brother William MacDonald passed into the presence of the Lord at 9:20 PM Tuesday, December 25, 2007 (Christmas evening)

We have been praying for Br. Bill. During the Thanksgiving weekend (November/24-25) Bill fell and suffered a compression fracture in his back. As he was recuperating from the fall he developed a hernia due to an obstruction in his lower abdomen. He had to undergo emergency surgery on December 9 to remove the obstruction and hernia. Bill has remained in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital for a week. Bill suffered from internal bleeding after the surgery and the doctors and medical staff have been treating him with blood clotting agents and transfusions. , It was well pleasing to our Master to call him to the HOME, where there is no pain, no sorrow, no tears, no sickness. Praise God!

To many, our brother Bill needs no introduction [Believer's Bible Commentary is the most outstanding of his contributions to the believers - Ben]. Through his God-given gift of teaching and by his godly example as a devoted disciple of Jesus for the past 7+ decades, Bill’s impact in the life of others has been palpable.

Let us uphold the grieving family members, and dear ones to the Throne of Grace . May the Lord bestow upon them Heavenly Grace, Peace and Strength and console them with the Word of God. May God's name be Glorified through the Funeral Service.

Late: Bro. William MacDonald was more than 90 years.

Suffering is there because of sin and our body is in the fallen nature, redemption of our body is not yet received it will be happened at the resurrection.

Reward for working to the Lord will be promptly awarded at the Judgement Seat of Christ, partly we will receive it in this world itself, but sometimes we have to suffer in this body especially in the time of old age. Psalms 90: 10 says our age limit is 70 or 80 it will be with labour and sorrow.

Psa 90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Comments from Bro. William Macdonald on Psalms 90: 7 – 10

90:7-10 While all death is a result of the entrance of sin, Moses realizes that what is happening in the desert is a special visitation from God. All the soldiers who were twenty years or older when they left Egypt will die before they reach Canaan. The tolling of the death bell is a sign that God is angry with His people because they took sides with the unbelieving spies instead of marching into Canaan as Caleb and Joshua had encouraged. Their iniquities and secret sins are ever before Him, a constant irritation and rankling. As a result, the Israelites are living under the somber cloud of His anger, and overwhelmed in the churning waves of His wrath. Some, it is true, live their allotted span of seventy years, and some even as much as eighty. But even in their case, life is a weariness. One ailment follows another. The smallest tasks are an effort. And soon the pulse beat has stopped, and another one becomes "the missing face."

Ejnnej asks "Do the above verses indicate that our bodies also redeemed?"

The answer is no until the Lord returns. Our bodies will be transformed and there will no longer be death or sickness when He returns. Until then, we will have trouble and sickness and death in this world. The Lord said "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16.33).

But it is better to raise these theological questions in a new thread. These issues have been addressed here in response to charismatic beliefs.

To the readers/ Bill MacDonald,

Benjamin Franklin composed this epitaph for himself: speaking of his body once dead, as an old book, its contents torn out and stripped of its lettering and guilding-

“The body lies here, food for worms,
But the work shall not be lost;
For it will appear once more,
In a new and more elegant edition
Revised and corrected
By the Author."

Leon Jaworski wrote like this – “Death for the Christian is turning off the light because the dawn has come.”

When the earthly lights were turned off our dear brother would have been enjoying the heavenly lights, never again to be darkened by the earthly shadows; away from his earthly tent to a permanent abode, in the presence of his Savior, who he loved so dearly and committed his life to as a ‘true disciple’.

I will miss you dear brother, your wisdom, your godly counsel & your friendship. You were a wise godly man with humble heart; a ‘Gentle Giant’ to the feeble ones. See you later.

Your brother in Christ,

Tom J

Dear ejnnej

Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death and resurrection was for the redemption of human being, body, soul & spirit, whoever accept Christ by faith will inherit this redemption. Redemption of our body will be received at the resurrection.

But in this life there is physical infirmities and diseases, it will continue, up to our death or up to our Saviour’s appearance at the mid-air. God will heal us because of our prayers, healing is not only for believers but unbelievers also receive it. Jesus Christ’s earthly ministry, mostly he healed the unbelievers.

Christ’s sacrifice is not for our present life physical healing, as the faith-healers claim.
Sin is the worst disease, which has no cure by human beings, penalty of sin is paid by our Saviour’ sacrificial death and the blood of Christ cleanses us from all our sins.

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Quote of others”
“Sin is a disease, a natural and hereditary one, an epidemic distemper, that reaches to all men, and to all the powers and faculties of their souls, and members of their bodies; and which is nauseous and loathsome, and in itself mortal and incurable; nor can it be healed by any creature, or anything that a creature can do. Christ is the only physician, and his blood the balm and sovereign medicine; this cleanses from all sin; through it is the remission of sin, which is meant by healing; for healing of diseases, and forgiving iniquities, is one and the same thing; see Psa_103:3 on which latter text a learned Jew (i) has this note,”

Mat 8:16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick.
Mat 8:17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Isaiah 53: 4-5 & 1 Peter 2:24 - we can understand that these verses says about physical healing since Mathew mentioned it as a fulfillment of Isaiah.

I understand that God Allows only WHAT WE ALLOW and not everything happens in our life according to GOD's will. God knows everything happens in our life, he can do everthing but he limited his power in his action for human beings.

In Genesis 1:26-28 God gave mankind dominion over this earth. This WASN'T CONDITIONAL dominion that would be taken back if used incorrectly as the case mentioned above. The Lord never intended for us to use it as we have, but He has never broken His Word to us. Psalms 89:34 - My covenant will I not break, not alter the things gone out of my lips. Hebrews 1: 3- God upholds all things by the Word of His power.
Therefore, when mankind began to use his God-given authority to work evil, God could not just intervene and SET THING STRAIGHT like a puppet/robot story as we think. That's why JESUS had to become man. We must understand the way in which God works, based on WORD OF GOD, and not with intelligence.

Inorder to Answer the question why man suffers with sickness:

My question is why people are still perishing of SIN even after Jesus paid the price of Sin - John 2:2 … the sins of the WHOLE WORLD - and God willing that any should perish - 2 Peter 3:9?

Ans: Not believing Jesus that He bore their sins

In March, this year, I had the privilege of hearing to Bro. MacDonald's sermons at our Church [Community Bible Chappel] for the whole of March and also I could discuss few things with him at a lunch table.

He was a simple and humble man. From what I heard, he told the doctors not to put him in any artificial ventilation to extend his life.

Yes, we do miss him.

John.

Do we have the right to question God?

Has not Jesus purified this world that was corrupted with Adam?
Why don’t God saving every one with out asking them to believe by heart and confess with mouth?
Why doesn’t he give us resurrected body (sinless) in this earth?
Jesus cleansed from our sins, Is there any child of God who does not have sin in their body?

Why do we die even god gives us eternal life?
Why do we angry, jealous, revenge when we have Holy Spirit in our heart?
Why Stephen was killed by Jews?
Why Paul, Peter any many believers were suffered?

Is Jesus not bore all their sins?
Did Paul Not believe Jesus bored his sins, Peter, and many believers who lived in that centaury?

Common guys, come back to the bible instead of going for the imagination.

It is regrettable, if people are not enlightened/walk according to the REVEALED INFORMATION from the WORD OF GOD. It is commonly taught that God makes us sick and this is the way God blesses us and build our character. I believe this is absolutely untrue.

In regards to Paul & Peter it is a lengthy subject and we must understand the difference between taking our cross (willingly suffering for Jesus) and get inflicted worldly. It is obvious that not everyone get healed, not even all those who desire healing receive it. Hence we adopt it as a convenient theology that it is not always God's will to heal us.

Dear Readers,

I thought that this thread is about the home-call of Brother William MacDonald. Could we keep it that way?

I am posting a prayer which was said in the time of funeral services of Late Bro, William MacDonald, because it is so encouraging, as reported by AV ministries:

Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:7-8)

We asked Dave Johnson (a former DITP student Bill taught in the early 80's) to pray. His prayer,

Lord, we want to praise and thank You again for the precious gift of our friend & beloved brother, Bill MacDonald.

Words fail us as we try to express our heart-felt gratitude for giving us such a godly man who means so much to us, a man who truly was a spiritual father to so many of us. He was a brother who daily reminded us of the character & grace of Your Son, the Lord Jesus Christ and consistently pointed us to Him. He was a brother who was the embodiment of what Paul said, For me to live is Christ and to die is gain. Thank you that though Bill is dead, he still speaks to us through his writings, his teaching, and the sweet memory of his life.

Lord, we are going to miss him and the wisdom, humility, devotion, godly counsel, the love and friendship that overflowed from his life and profoundly touched our lives and those of countless others around the world. Thank you that our brother fought the good fight valiantly, that he ran the race and finished the course well. We believe there is a crown of righteousness laid up for him which he will lovingly lay at Your feet.

Contd……..

Thank you Lord Jesus, that Bill is now home with You, the One whom he loved above all and served so faithfully. Thank you that his faith is now made sight as he gazes upon You, the One who loves us and gave Himself for us. Thank you that his joy is made full as he hears Your voice saying, Well done, good and faithful servant. Truly precious in Your sight is the death of Your godly ones. As we say farewell to our dear friend and brother, we do so with sorrow and joy: sorrow that he is no longer with us, but fullness of joy knowing that He is with You forever. We say goodbye for now, with fond remembrance of one who led us, who spoke the Word of God to us and having seen the outcome of his way of life, we ask Lord, help us by Your grace to imitate his faith.

We do so looking forward to that day when we will see our brother again around Your throne joining our voices with his and those from every tribe and tongue and nation saying, Worthy, worthy, worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing. Amen.
