THE
SUBLINE STATE OF CHRISTIAN LIFE....JOHN 15 ; 1-11
TURN TO YOUR CREATOR SERIES JUNE 2001 KG George, Mamala. |

How wonderful it is that the King of kings and the Lord of Lords has called us to His eternal kingdom! St. Paul says that this calling was predestined by Jesus to His purpose.(Eph.1:11). What was His purpose? He says again that He has a hope, a desire in calling us, that we should be to the praise of His glory (Eph.1:12,18). He continues to exhort us that we should try to know the riches of the glory of His inheritance is us. But many times we are found satisfied in the mediocrity and mundane life. Now, God wants to lead us to a more blessed, victorious life only if we are willing to accept the leadership . It is an option left open to us, but He is always ready for us, it is our willingness that matters. The great painting "the crowned king" had a thorn crowned king knocking at the door. The painter Halman Hunt was asked by his friend is he made a mistake in not painting handle for the door. He replied that it was the door of the heart which has a handle inside. It can be opened
only from inside. John 15 Jesus told about two state of Christian
life. So all those who
are in Christ may not necessarily abide in Christ! and become deprived
of the subsequent blessing. Jesus in this passage talks about two
types of people among his own children. A man with his young child were going through a painting exhibition and came to the famous painting "the crowned king". It looks so naturally he the boy wondered why the people inside did not opened the door for he king. Boy said "I know why, probably they did not hear the knocks because they were all at the backyard". Did the boy's statement make any meaning to us? Do we hear the knock? Are we at the backyard of faith? Are we going away into the world? Let us be careful to hear the soft knock, so that we abide in Him and He in us. 2) vs 7.Ye abide in me...This is the blessed life of the Christian. His words abide in him, and he brings for much fruits-- fruits of he spirit. It is the Lords desire, His hope, the hope of His calling us. The People of God so journed from bondage into the liberty from the bonds of Egypt, crossing the red sea walking through the desert of all the troubles, but finally crossed the Jordan river into the promised land where flows milk and honey. May we not embark upon this voyage of blessed Christian life which the Lord desires to lead us through. May we not expose the riches of the glory of his inheritance! Shall we not exault Him for the exceeding greatness of His power towards us in calling us, in preserving us and in taking us through beyond the veil? thank you Jesus for the unseekable gift. Thank you Jesus for counting us a treasure of incomparable worth I surrender I surrender, I surrender all ........................................
